Power Shut Down Schedule April 2012 Chennai
Chennai is going thru lot of electricity shortage from last year on wards, there are many reason for this. Government is taking some valuable steps to make sure everyone gets the electricity but due to some unavoidable technical issue like very less power generation from the Present EB Thermal plants, and Unwanted consumption of electricity, Theft of EB so the current plant is not able to generate and serve the necessity of entire Tamilnadu.
Since we all know this will take lot of time so let’s get to the Plan B. Here we are trying to give you some Information on each area Electricity Power cut schedule which we got from some unknown source. You can plan your work and get least affected by this shut down so kindly go thru’ the area wise timing report.
- Rates On unit basis has increased and effects From April 2012
- Timings of power cut area wise changed
This Plan will be applicable from April 2012
Old Timings Will change to New timings.

Price Hike Percentage W.E.F April 2012 Chennai
Chennai Residential New Electricity Tariff Plan W.E.F April 2012:
- Up to 100 Units - Rs. 1.10 per unit & Additional Fixed Charge Rs. 10.
- 101 to 200 units - Rs. 1.80 per unit
- 201 to 250 units - Rs. 3 per unit
- 251 to 500 units - Rs. 3.50 per unit
Above 500 units Tariff plan are as follows:
- Up to 200 units - Rs. 3 per unit
- 201 to 500 units - Rs. 4 per unit
- 501 and above units - Rs. 5.75 per unit
Industries Tariff Plan:
- Rs. 5.50 per unit
Commercial Tariff Plan:
- Rs. 4.30 per unit up to 100 units
- Rs. 7 per unit above 100 units
- Rs. 2.50 per unit up to 120 units
- Rs. 5 per unit above 120 units
- Private Schools, Colleges - Rs. 5 per unit
- Government and Govt-Aided Schools - Rs. 4.50 per unit
- For Decorative Lamps - Rs. 10.50 per unit.
